Independent Bookshop Week 18th – 26th June 2022

Independent Bookshop Week is nearly upon us and we’ve got LOTS of brilliant things going on in and around the shop!

A fantastic week to spread the indie love, do lots of reading, support local and meet some great authors!

Here’s what you can look forward to at The Edge of the World this Indie Book Week!!


Saturday 18th June 10am – 2pm
Start Painting Now with Emily Powell and Sarah Moore
Emily and Sarah want everyone to see how much artistic potential you have! They will be painting our window in her exuberant style between 10 and 12. Come and see her exuberant style that is full of colour and joie de vivre.

From 1-2pm both Emily and Sarah will be chatting about how fantastic art can be for your mental wellbeing and where to start if you want to develop your own artisitic potential, as well as signing copies of their fabulous book, ‘Start Painting Now’!

Come along and get some tips and tricks.


Monday 20th June 11am – 1pm
Patrick Gale comes to work in the shop!

Local author Patrick Gale will be popping in to the shop 11am-1pm to help out behind the counter as guest bookseller!
Pop down to say hi, have a chat & grab a signed copy.


Thursday 23rd June
Joanna Nadin

Joanna will be visiting a local Primary School and entertaining them with stories about The Very Worst Class In The World.

Sharon Wright author of ‘Mother of the Bronte’s shares the secrets behind Penzance’s connection to the most famous literary family of all.


Friday 24th June 11am-1pm
Author Emma Stonex comes to work in the bookshop!

Emma Stonex, author of the incredible ‘The Lamplighters’ will be popping in to the bookshop to help out as a guest bookseller for a few hours! Pop in a say hi, have a chat about The Lamplighters and grab a signed copy!


Friday 24th June 6pm – 8pm
Book Launch for the New Book by Jane Johnson.
Solomon Browne Memorial Hall, Mousehole
Free event
We join Jane Johnson for an evening in beautiful Mousehole to launch her brilliant and much anticipated new novel ‘The White Hare’.
