If you like Poldark, you’ll love the Penhale trilogy! Penzance lad, Crosbie Garstin, wrote this 18th century Cornish saga in the mid-1920s. From it’s initial publication and over the decades it was hailed as one of the finest historical novels of eighteenth century Cornwall ever written, yet has unfortunately faded into obscurity. It certainly deserves to be rediscovered.
The final book follows Ortho Penhale as he travels across Spain and his return to his beloved Cornwall.
