Our coastline is full of contrasts, from granite cliffs to sandy beaches, and crashing Atlantic Ocean waves to gently lapping water in tranquil river estuaries. Photographer Gabriel Fuchs takes you on a photographic journey through the ancient Celtic county of Kernow, revealing many of her wonderful and varied delights.

Gabriel Fuchs has been taking photographs since his parents gave him his first camera, a Kodak Instamatic, in the 1970s. Now his passion for photography means there is always time to take photos, talk about photography, or think about what equipment to buy next.

Historical fiction doesn’t get much better than PILLARS OF LIGHT by Jane Johnson. and we are delighted to host her book launch in The Edge of the World bookshop.

Known for exotic fiction that transports the reader to the delights of Morocco, Jane Johnson’s latest novel is set In the Syrian city of Akka. Meanwhile in Cornwall, John Savage, a foundling boy, runs away from his cruel life in a priory with The Moor, a mysterious man driven by a dream of perfection. Akka awaits. Jackie Morris
Book Signing event

Meet Edge of the World favourite author and illustrator, Jackie Morris on the publication of her astounding collaboration with Robert Macfarlane that champions the lost words of our childhood and the irreplaceable magic of language.

All over the country, there are words disappearing from children’s lives. Words from the natural world, from the countryside and the landscape. Words like Dandelion, Otter, Bramble and Acorn represent a space of discovery and imagination, of play and freedom, yet this rich landscape is rapidly fading from children’s minds.

Robert Macfarlane, author of Old Ways and Landmarks, casts a series of spells celebrating the poetry of nature in his new book, The Lost Words. Beautifully illustrated by Jackie Morris, it stands against the disappearance of wild childhood and wild places.

Jackie will be signing copies of this and her other sumptuously illustrated books which show the natural world in all their magical beauty.

If you’d like to pre-order a signed copy of a book by Jackie Morris, please contact the shop directly on 01736 365 607.
